Pursuit Program Components
Spiritual Formation
The goals of Spiritual Formation Component are that participants will:
- be able to process and articulate a personal life mission statement in relation to their faith.
- develop a deeper understanding of their faith.
- understand what it means to be more like Christ and how that should shape their world view.
- establish habits, spiritual disciplines and learning techniques to guide and assist them in their faith journey.
- learn the value of sharing a faith journey with other like-minded believers, experience peer accountability, and discover ways to enhance close relationships for mutual faith growth.
- discover their own personality style and how to relate to others with personality styles that differ from their own.
- discover their strengths and the benefits of working, serving and ministering in those areas.
- experience the joys and challenges of living in community.
- be mentored and coached by a Red Rock Bible Camp staff member.
The Spiritual Formation Components will include:
- Being mentored and coached by one of the camp leaders
- Participating in a mutual accountability relationship with a peer
- Meeting Together weekly (Church at Red Rock)
- Working through a formal discipleship program
- One or more extended solo retreats
Missions
The goals of our Missions Component are that participants will:
- gain a clearer understanding of the breadth of the Church.
- gain a better understanding of how culture affects the expression of Christianity.
- be able to see God working in their lives and circumstances within the context of outreach and missions.
- experience being used by God through outreach and missions.
- learn new skills as they prepare and train.
- learn the basics of a foreign language.
- gain confidence, experience and passion in sharing their faith with non-believers.
The Mission Components of the program will include:
- Regular trips to local inner city ministries
- A Northern Manitoba trip to an Aboriginal reserve
- A Major Mission Trip to a developing country
Instruction
The goals of Instructional Component are that participants will:
- receive instruction and have the opportunity to transfer up to 9 credit hours into Steinbach Bible College or Providence College degree program.
- gain a fuller knowledge of the Bible and how to better apply biblical principles in their daily lives.
- learn the basics in skills such as: cooking, vehicle maintenance, and budgeting.
The Instructional Component will include:
- Bible College level instruction in Biblical Formation, Leadership and Christian Spiritual Formation.
- The option of transferring credits to a local college
- Instruction in life skills
Outdoor Leadership
The goals of The Outdoor Leadership Component are that participants will:
- gain certification in Wilderness First Aid.
- gain Level 1 certification with the Alpine Club of Canada.
- gain certification in Canoeing Flat water A, B, C.
- learn how to instruct various Red Rock Bible Camp skills.
- gain basic proficiency in skills such as mountain biking, climbing, ice climbing, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, canoeing, kayaking, and archery.
- learn basic outdoor camping and basic wilderness survival skills.
- experience outdoor adventures such as downhill skiing, wilderness canoeing and camping trips, winter camping, ice climbing trip, and hiking excursions.
- learn about and assist with the operation of a camp.
The Outdoor Leadership Components will include:
- Out trips
- Training
- Instruction
- Certification
- Supervised Hands On Experience
